Oh Beautiful Star of Bethlehem, Shine On….
December 19th, 2008

It seems we’ve had quite an increased interest in our Red Line Traveler flat, Army Navy style mandolins lately. It’s always a bit of “needles and pins” while the builder waits to hear back from the customer, once the hard work is done, and the instrument has shipped.
When all goes well, you are pleased when your customer gives you positive feedback. Well, that happened not once, but twice today. Walnut seems to be a popular choice for these Travelers, and that’s what the back and side wood was on these two.
This e-mail, just in from Fred S., after receiving his third RedLine Traveler:
“Wandering Walnut looks magnificent. You’re right about the figure in the top: it has a neat bearclaw in it. Tuned it up and strummed a few chords and notes, and, again, you’re right about the volume: it’s there! Beautiful tone, graceful neck, and lovely snowflake inlays on the fingerboard: thank you for that. She is, indeed, a honey.”
And here’s just some of what Ken O. up in Alaska had to say earlier today after receiving his custom RedLine Walnut Traveler:
“I LOVE IT!! I really mean it man, what a great instrument!! Thanks again, I will happily play it for many years to come! My wife likes it better than my other mandolin!”
But Ken didn’t stop there, look here to see him playing his brand new Traveler on YouTube. Pretty amazing, especially when you consider that he couldn’t have had it out of the box for more than an hour or two before recording this…

Hello again…
I’ll just say this about ResoSummit, it was amazing! Instructors, other students, everyone invloved was just so nice. I realized one thing I like about this business is the people that you meet. One of the most amazing folks I met happened to also become a Red Line Resophonics customer during ResoSummit. Meet Mr. Gaven Largent, all of 12 years old. Don’t let his age fool you. This young man can already play the fire out of a resophonic guitar (along with banjo and regular guitar, I am told). He is also just an all-around good guy, and very mature for his young age. When we were working out the specs for the guitar we would be building for him, you’d have thought I was dealing with an old sage. This kid knows what he wants, and he knows how to let you know, too!
Anyway, be on the lookout for this little picker packing a big guitar! It will be our first Large Body resophonic, and we are as excited about building it as we are to hear it when Gaven takes it for its first ride!
Here you can see Gaven holding a red-topped black Red Line Rambler. The other shot is with his grandfather on one side, and me on the other.
We have added sections for guitars and mandolins that we have currently in-stock!

One recent event worth mentioning, we have added a level to our resophonic guitar line. We call it the Red Line Deluxe Rambler, as it is a step up from our regular line of Rambler square neck guitars, yet the price is still quite affordable, and a very good value, especially when you consider the caliber of these instruments. To celebrate, Resohangout.com is giving a Rambler Deluxe Away! Enter NOW!

Also, be sure to check out our new line of ”Traveler” mandolins.
We have re-introduced a proven design that has all but disappeared from modern built mandolin choices. These affordable, U.S. built Red Line beauties sport solid wood construction, satin lacquer finish, and a variety of wood options, each imparting their own tone to each instrument. These mandolins are fun to play, offer incredible tone and volume, and are easy to take with you. Hence, the name “Traveler“.
Our new website is structured so that it will be far easier for us to add content to it. So, be sure to bookmark us, and check back soon and often, as we will be adding more to it in the very near future. Some things we have in mind are: A list of instruments that are currently available, sound samples from various instruments, and new products and accessories that we are working on. (Yes, cool Red Line Resophonic T-shirts, hats, etc. can’t be that far off…!)
